Healthy Homemade Strawberry Gummy Bears

Red gummy candies shaped like bears and rings on a white surface. The gummies have a glossy texture and are scattered randomly.

Ingredients:

  • 8 fresh strawberries, hulled

  • 1/4 cup cold water

  • 2 tbsp unflavored gelatin (about 2 packets)

  • 1–2 tbsp pure maple syrup (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Blend the fruit: Puree the strawberries until smooth. For a smoother texture, strain to remove seeds.

  2. Bloom the gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.

  3. Gently heat the puree: Warm the strawberry puree in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in maple syrup. Do not boil—just heat until warm and steamy.

  4. Dissolve the gelatin: Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm puree until fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

  5. Pour into molds: Transfer the mixture into silicone gummy molds. Use a dropper or small spoon.

  6. Chill to set: Refrigerate for 2–3 hours until firm and chewy.

  7. Unmold and enjoy: Pop the gummies out and enjoy right away or store for later.

Prompt

Very straightforward this time :-) I wanted to make Healthy Homemade Strawberry Gummy Bears, so I asked ChatGPT:

I have eight strawberries and I have gelatin. Can I make gummy bears for children that will not feel like jello but actual gummy bears?
